It is with great sadness that we report the death of club
member Mr David Charity after a long illness. Dave joined the Angling Club in
1973 and was one of its longest serving members. He moved to Pitlochry to fill
the post of science teacher at the High school and was always willing to give
help, advice and encouragement to junior members of the club. He was also club
Auditor for a number of years.
His great love was fly-fishing for trout on the Tummel but he
also enjoyed a day on Broom and Bhac. He was great company to fish with and,
even when the trout were not co-operating, the time would pass quickly as he
recounted tales from his extensive store of anecdotes.
Dave was a great character and truly lived up to his name
--- he will be sorely missed. R.H.
