With hot and sunny weather and the river at summer levels it didn’t look too promising today – and certainly hard to follow on from the success of last week. As it turned out it was another exceptional day on the river: Iain McLaren was in action again and had another day to remember with fish at 7lbs, 8lbs, 9lbs, 10lbs and 11lbs – all on the fly from Pitlochry bank this morning – great fishing; new junior member, Mati Banat, had an evening to remember with his first ever salmon - a fish of 8lbs on the spinner this evening on Port- na-Craig bank – well done, great stuff; Liam Mullen, another junior member, followed soon after with a fish of 8lbs on the spinner – again from Port-na-Craig bank – nicely done; and further down on our Sawmill beat Ally Gowans caught a fresh fish of 15lbs on the fly. An excellent start to the week - great to see the juniors enjoying success. It will be interesting to see what the rest of the week brings.
