After a week of high water it was good to see the river
dropping back by about 12 inches overnight – definitely room for optimism this
morning. Plenty of fish were showing throughout the beat and it wasn’t too long
before Martin Timmins was able to take advantage: in the morning on Port-na-Craig
bank he landed a very nice fish of 8lbs on the spinner ... and in the afternoon he
followed up on Pitlochry bank with a fish of 7lbs – both were caught on the
spinner – good going. With settled weather forecast the river should drop back
further over the weekend and prospects for next week look excellent.
