THAT OLD TOBACCO TIN

Yesterday that old Fife angler returned for his final assault on the dam fishings this season. Neil MacLellan went through his usual routine---- walk the dogs at the sports field early doors and return them to the back of his car. Aye time for fishing---- Rod & Line assembled and now for the killing pattern on the end. This is more complex, enter the tobacco tin that displays when opening a mass of colour mingled together ( Looks like a tight woven axminster ). Now the skill kicks in and a good action of the wrist dislodges a size 10 cascade complete with curly tail----The choice has been made its that simple. Neil went on to catch two fish at 8lb & 14lb and lost a third fish afer a few minutes. I am thinking I will have to acquire one of these old Tobacco tins. Today a return for Lower Tummel with Alistair Stephen with a 10lb fish from Greenbank on a Black & Orange conehead.      JK
