NEARLY OUT OF TIME
Yesterday quite early on Gordon Hanslip hooked a fish on Portnacraig only to lose it close to the bank. Things looked bleak as no other fish were touched all morning. Right after the changeover Gordon Nichol struck lucky with a lovely fish around 10lb on Portnacraig bank at the concrete slab (cascade own tying ). The rest of the afternoon went very quiet and with only 15mins left to the 5pm finish Andy Walker hooked a fish on Pitlochry bank. The fish played hard and time was getting on while Jimmy Ross ( El Presidente ) waited with the net in one hand and kept glancing at his watch. With only 3mins to 5pm I am sure Jimmy reached into his pocket for the scissors. Ah well Andy rules are rules. All turned out well as the fish was safely netted with 2mins to spare, it was around 16lb (Pictured ).This morning on Portnacrag Tony Brown continued his great start on the Tummel with a fish just over 12lb ( 7 on Tummel so far ). West Haugh regular Stuart Clements decided to have a cast at the dam this year while up for his week and caught a fish around 14lb on Portnacraig bank. Stuart used a stealth approach this year with a bit of WD40 on a hip joint. This time last season the fish would have heard the squeak as Stuart left the car. JK
