Last week we had a bit too much water for the start of the week with localised flooding showing how much rain fell in a short period of time. The river was falling nicely by mid-week and a visitor had a coloured 13lbs fish off Pitlochry bank on Thursday. On Saturday morning Kevin McPherson had two grilse off Pitlochry, early on. Both were around 4.5lbs and one was liced. On Sawmill, Innes Smith and Jimmy Ross both ended long barren spells. Innes taking a clean 10lbs fish and a 4lbs seatrout and Jimmy a 3lbs seatrout.Later in the day Donnie Whiteford brought up the club’s 100th fish of the season, a 12lbs fish off Pitlochry. He then went on to take another two at 8lbs and 12lbs fish off the same bank.To round of a good day Les Dargie took a nice 2.5lbs seatrout off Portnacraig bank,in the evening.

Today the water was falling away rather quickly but Neil McLennan and Donnie Whiteford both took fish off Pitlochry bank. Neil’s at 7lbs and Donnie’s at 6.5lbs with plenty of fish showing throughout the beat.Neil then crossed over to Portnacraig bank and took a 9lbs cock fish to round of a good day. Prospects are still good but we could do with the water holding, at least, at the level it is at today.
