Last week the low water and bright sunshine made it almost impossible to tempt a salmon although the counter suggests that they were still going through in reasonable numbers. One fish came off Pitlochry bank at 9lbs, midweek, and Greg MCalister took an 8lbs fish on Saturday. Two fine fish came off Ruanruarie on Saturday. Garry regular Barry Ward got a nice 14lbs fish from the top of the beat but the fish of the week goes to Alex Gibson, aged 12yrs, who took a lovely 8lbs fish from the grilse pool. Well done Alex, the first of many salmon to your rod we hope.

Thanks also to the small group of members who helped strim and tidy the Pitlochry bank tonight. It will make a big difference to other members and visitors when we get some water to improve the fishing.

Salmon reel found. A salmon reel was picked up on Pitlochry bank recently. If you think it might be your reel then please contact Pitlochry Police station where the reel is being kept.
