Excellent Returns At The Dam

The river dropped back nicely over the weekend - from a high of 37 inches (above recent summer lows) on Saturday to 25 inches this morning - and it certainly seemed to have put the fish in the mood: George Falls and Colin Hyslop were first onto action this morning with a fish apiece - both 10lb - on the spinner from Port-na-Craig bank; Steve Watt then had two fish at 6 and 16lb on a Willie Gunn tube - again on Port-na-Craig bank; Dave Stewart landed a good fish of 15lbs on a shrimp fly from Port-na-Craig after the midday changeover; and Jim Fisher rounded things off with a nice fish of about 12lbs from Pitlochry bank at last light. An excellent day - let's hope it continues.
