Extensive refurbishment work is taking place on Portnacraig Footbridge, so it is closed just now. As can be seen from the second photo, it is scheduled to reopen at 5pm on 20 December, which means it will be open again for the start of the salmon season. This is good as the bridge is often used by anglers moving between the two banks. The work was originally scheduled to take place in Spring 2013 which would have been much less convenient.
