INNES LIFTS THE GLOOM

The past two weeks have been the worst at the dam beats this season. probably a combination of hardly fished and waiting for a true grilse run. Innes Smith got us going again on Saturday on Portnacraig with a 12lb fish ( Monkey Dressing ). I just came back from up north and have seen lots of Grilse ( and seen caught ) These were fish between 3-5lb. Maybe the Grilse will show now. Pictured left is a recent catch by Jacob Aubrey with his 12lb fish ( Red Francis ). I mentioned before about his obvious casting skills for one so young. Jacob is a member of Windermere, Ambleside and district angling assoc--junior section since 7yrs years old and Kent (Kendal ) anglers. Jacob is a very competent fly fisher and fly tyer. Jacob in the years to come if you come up with a successful new pattern I know a guy in Fife who would love to have it rattlin around in his old tobacco tin. JK
