Monkey Business

Salmon Total 8

More good news came in that Innes Smith caught a fresh 20 pounder on a Monkey fly while fishing on the Pitlochry Bank in late afternoon yesterday, a further sign that the three-sea-winter salmon are arriving on time and in better numbers than recent years. You have to be out there to catch them! The weather has turned fresher, let's say, with overnight snow and a gale. However, the sun is stronger now and has melted most of the snow off the hills, so the river will be rising. Nobody here has seen a fully-equipped male brass monkey all winter, so go easy making the Monkey flies.
