The fish are here - see it in black and white!

Pitlochry Dam is recognised as one of the few places where an angler has a decent chance of catching a spring salmon on fly and occasionally on a lure. The Club’s beats in March and even during April and May are not yet fully booked which is amazing.

There is a decent number of salmon in the river below the Dam as evidenced by accumulating catches. Today Falkirk angler Rab Brown caught a lovely 14 lbs fish on a gold Toby spoon. Willie Gunn fished on a sink tip and intermediate lines caught two more salmon of 15 and 8 lbs all of them being taken below the footbridge from the Portnacraig bank. A fourth salmon was landed and half eaten by Tarka the local otter who has ancient and indigenous fishing rights.

Prospects are looking good! Salmon total 11.
