Pitlochry Dam Spring Fishing

Permits for the Pitlochry bank start on the Tummel spring salmon fishing are selling fast.  The Portnacraig start on the opposite bank is the same beat and fishes slightly better in higher water than Pitlochry bank.

Bear in mind, one changes to the opposite (Pitlochry to Portnacraig and vice-versa) bank at lunchtime, so everyone gets a fair go on both banks. There are lots more Portnacraig start permits available right now and if the water is above normal this bank fishes beautifully, the Green Bank being the best high water pool on the beat.

On either bank, you have a good chance of an early springer from opening day on January 15 onwards. Club members please note that January 15 is a "free for all" members only day to celebrate the season's start.

Lower Tummel fishes well in March and some of the bigger Tay system fish are hooked here.  Landing them is something different!

It also fishes very well in summer low water conditions and there is every prospect of seeing Ospreys fishing in the Monument pool.
