Salmon News

Low water again this week but we are getting used to it. Donnie Whiteford took a nice fish of 8lbs late in the evening on Tuesday and Mr Crowther caught his first ever salmon, a 12lbs fish on Wednesday, both off Pitlochry bank. Today Barry Ward took a strange fish on RuanRuarie....a well mended kelt with gill maggots.

As I have reported before, during this long dry spell, the surprising thing has been the amount of fish running through each day. We have reached the 2000 mark over the ladder and I suspect many people didn’t think that would happen. That figure is on par with the runs of the last 5 years.
